Established in 2017, the Academy in Exile safeguards critical scholarship that is globally threatened. Since its inception, it has facilitated 76 hosting arrangements through various programs, including long-term fellowships, emergency stipends, artist-in-residence fellowships, and guest professorships. Based at TU Dortmund University since August 2023, it collaborates with KWI in Essen.
