The Claude Ake Visiting Chair was set up in 2003 at the Department of Peace and Conflict Research, Uppsala University (DPCR), in collaboration with the Nordic Africa Institute (NAI) and with funding from the Swedish Government and Uppsala University.     Applications for the Nordic Scholarship Programme are now open. This is a 1-month stay at the Nordic Africa Institute (NAI) in order to facilitate the use of the Institute’s library collections on contemporary Africa, and to support connection to existing work at the Institute through NAI research hosts.
