Opportunity Details
Organized with the support of AVP Ventures, this edition seeks female co-founders or C-level leaders of startups who are in the process of raising capital, from pre-seed to Series B. The top 10 selected entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to pitch their companies to investors and key players in the innovation ecosystem of Latin America and the Caribbean during the IDB Lab Forum, the IDB Group’s premier innovation event.

- Pitch Opportunity: Present your business to investors and key players in Buenos Aires on October 31 and November 1, 2024, during the IDB Lab Forum.

- Travel and Lodging: The prize includes travel and lodging expenses for the female founder/co-founder or C-suite director who will be pitching.
WeXchange Women STEMpreneurs Competition Requirements
- Leadership: Startups with at least one woman in the founding or leadership team (C-suite).
- Fundraising: Startups actively raising capital from seed rounds to Series A/B or planning an investment round within the next 4 months from the start of the call for applications.
- Technological Focus: Startups with a high technological component or where STEM is crucial, including sectors like fintech, edtech, agtech, healthtech, biotech, e-commerce, transportation/mobility, logistics, digital security, cleantech, tourism, SaaS for SMEs, among others.
- Legal Requirements: Startups legally incorporated with headquarters and operations in at least one country in Latin America or the Caribbean.
- Scalability and Impact: Startups with highly scalable business models at a regional/global level and high potential for social and/or environmental impact.
- New Opportunities: Founders who have not been selected as finalists in the last four editions, unless applying with a new company.
Selection Criteria
- Founding Team: Profile, previous experience, and ability to execute.
- Innovation: Differentiating/disruptive element of the proposed solution.
- Growth Potential: Market size and growth potential.
- Business Model: Viability and scalability potential.
- Impact: Potential for social and/or environmental impact.
- Performance: Traction and performance to date.
