About University of Manitoba Graduate Fellowship (UMGF) 2024-2025 in Canada

Opportunity Details

To acknowledge and promote academic brilliance, the University provides over $2 million in graduate fellowships to full-time master’s and PhD students each year.

The grants are available to Master’s and doctoral applicants with exceptional intellectual capacity and academic achievement. For a UMGF, students must be referred by their department or unit to the FGS (Faculty of Graduate Studies). The UMGF does not apply to Master of Business Administration (MBA), Master of Finance (MFin), or Master of Supply Chain Management (MSCM) degrees because they do not include a research/thesis component.

About the University of Manitoba (UM):

The University of Manitoba (UM) is a public research university in Manitoba, Canada. It was the first University in Western Canada, founded in 1877.

The University of Manitoba is the largest in Manitoba and the 17th in Canada regarding overall student enrollment and campus space. Its main campus is in the Fort Garry neighborhood of southern Winnipeg, with other campuses around the city. In addition to its main site in Fort Garry, the University of Manitoba has three other important campuses: the Bannatyne site, the James W. Burns Executive Education Centre, and the William Norrie Centre. In addition, the institution oversees its French-language affiliate, Université de Saint-Boniface, which is located in the Saint Boniface neighborhood.
