The University of Pavia and the Institute of the Right to University Studies (EDiSU) offer Committee for International Cooperation and Development-CICOPS Scholarships for 2025 to promote international cooperation with developing countries.
About The University of Pavia CICOPS Scholarships
These scholarships enable visiting scholars from developing countries to stay at the University of Pavia for a period ranging from 4 to 12 weeks, fostering research collaboration and mobility.

You can benefit from the CICOPS Scholarships for 2025 as follows:
- Travel, meals, and accommodation expenses are covered
- Health insurance policy provided
- Contribution of €150 per week (gross)
- Invitation letter for visa request and visa issuance support
- Return flight ticket (economy class) provided
- University accommodation arranged
- Meal card for University canteens
- Access to necessary facilities for study and research activities
The University of Pavia CICOPS Scholarships Requirments
All candidates should meet the following criteria:
- Must have at least two years of teaching experience or activity within international organizations
- Scholarships are open to junior and senior members of universities in developing countries, major research centers, and international organizations with an interest in development studies
- Applicants enrolled in a PhD or Postgraduate Course at an Italian University are not eligible.
Required Documents
- Curriculum Vitae in European format with a list of publications (file named Surname_Name_CV)
- Invitation letter from the professor or researcher with whom the applicant intends to collaborate (file named Surname_Name_Letter)
Note: Applications without correctly named documents will not be acceptable.
Selection Process
The following is the selection process for the CICOPS Scholarships for 2025:
- A selection committee comprised of the President of CICOPS and two members designated by the Rector will evaluate all the applications
- Criteria include the scientific relevance of the proposed project, the candidate’s Curriculum Vitae, and the fair distribution of grants.
- Preference goes to applicants from lower-income economies, universities with a Cooperation Agreement with the University of Pavia, or those introduced by certain honorary consuls.
- A Committee will decide by June 30, 2024
Application Date and Process
- Fill out the online application form available on the CICOPS website by May 31, 2024
- Attach the required documents named as specified.
- Only apply once and wait till you have received the acceptance letter from your contact Professor at the University of Pavia.
- Confirm acceptance of the scholarship within 20 days of receipt of email communication.
