About The Klagenfurt University Scholarship

Opportunity Details

The scholarship is funded by two main sponsors. The first half of the scholarship is funded by Carinthia's capital city Klagenfurt while the other half is funded by top Carinthian companies. In the same spirit, Carinthian companies will work to build close relationships with the scholarship holders over the course of the two-year scholarship programme

Applicants for the scholarship must meet the necessary conditions for admission for a Master's degree of their choice at AAU. They must also maintain sufficient academic performance throughout their study regime.

  • Along side a monthly scholarship stipend, selected scholars will also benefit from Intensive cooperation in the form of project and research work, internships, mentoring.

The Klagenfurt University Scholarship Requirements

Prospective students interested in a Master’s degree programme offered by AAU may apply for the award of a scholarship provided that:

  • they fulfil the requirements necessary for admission to the Master’s programme and their completed Bachelor’s programme was completed no more than three years ago.
  • they have not yet reached the age of 30 at the beginning of the Master’s programme.
  • they have Austrian nationality or the nationality of an EEA member state as well as foreigners and stateless persons who are treated as such:
    • Third-country nationals and stateless persons are treated as Austrian citizens if they have acquired the right of permanent residence in Austria (residence title “EU permanent resident”), are family members of EU citizens who are “migrant workers” within the meaning of Art. 45 TFEU or self-employed workers within the meaning of Art. 49 TFEU, or are family members of Austrian citizens.
    • Refugees within the meaning of Art. 1 of the Convention relating to the Status of Refugees, Federal Law Gazette No. 55/1955 (proof: passport or asylum decision), are treated equally to Austrian citizens.

The execution of the selection process lies within the responsibility of the University of Klagenfurt.

Application Date and Process

Applicants must submit their applications by the deadline of April 30, 2023. After all applications have been received, the selection process for qualified candidates will be carried out to select the most deserving students.

  • Applicants may also submit proof of Completed work experience.
