About Slovakia Government Scholarships for International students
Opportunity Details
Each year, the Ministry of Education, Science, Research, and Sport of the Slovakia Republic Government offers 70 scholarships for students from ODA countries to study their bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree or PhD in the Slovak Republic.
The specific number of scholarships and fields of study are distinctly specified for each eligible country. There are 8 scholarships allocated for Afghanistan ( for bachelor’s and master’s degrees). (You may check the list here to know the number of scholarships allocated to your country.) Students interested in studying in Slovakia can apply from March 25, 2024, to May 30, 2024.

Benefits of Slovakia Government Scholarships for International students
For bachelor and master:
- Monthly scholarship of 400 Euros
- Study commencement stipend 100 Euros
- Study completion stipend 200 Euros
- Monthly stipend for public university 80 Euros
For Ph.D.:
- Monthly scholarship of 734 Euros
- Study commencement stipend 100 Euros
- Study completion stipend 200 Euros
- Monthly stipend for public university 240Euros
For language preparation:
- Monthly scholarship of 400 Euros
- Study commencement stipend 100 Euros
- Monthly stipend for public university 80 Euros
Note: if there is a significant change in living standards in the Slovakia, the monthly scholarship may be adjusted accordingly.
Fees in Slovakia:
- Dormitory accommodation: 92-100 Euro/month
- Meals (11 €/day): 330 € monthly
- Medical examination: 140/169 Euro
- Interview related to entrance application procedure: 20-80 Euro
- Completion of degree work: 33 Euro approximately
- Dissertation: 50 Euro approx.
- Translation and authentication of diploma: 33 Euro
Incentive stipend:
student with excellent academic performance will bonus for gpa of 1.3: 50 Euro/month
PhD students passed the exam in the deadline: 170 euro/year
Slovakia Government Scholarships for International students Requirements
Applicants should fulfill the requirements below in order to apply for Slovakia Government Scholarships:
- Be from one of an eligible country
- Be between the age of 18 – 26 years for bachelor and master degree and be between the age of 23 – 35 for Ph.D. degree by the first of September
Application Date and Process
- Applicants can apply to Slovak Government Scholarships via the application website.
- First register your self and you will receive a confirmation email with activation link.
- Click on the activation link to activate your account
- Login
- After you logged in, fill the application form and attach the required documents
Required documents:
- Highest degree diploma
- High school completion certificate for those who apply for bachelor and transcript for those who apply for master and doctoral degree
- An acceptance letter can be added by August 31
- Birth certificate in English, Slovak, French, Czech or Spanish
- Recent photograph sized 3.5×4.5cm- full face with no glasses and minimum resolution of 300 x 400 pxl
- Two recommendation letters from
- Signed CV and Signed Motivation letter

- Passport
- Signed application (print the pdf filled application form which you can find in your account, sign the last part of the form and attach its scanned)
