Opportunity Details
Fellowship now accepts applications. The Scientific Committee on Antarctic Research (SCAR) established the SCAR Fellowship Program in 2002. The objective was to foster early-career researchers’ active participation in Antarctic scientific research, foster new relationships, and further develop global capability and collaboration in Antarctic research. More than 80 SCAR Fellowships have been granted since the program’s start.
Early-career scholars are encouraged to actively contribute to advancing their understanding of Antarctica through the SCAR Fellowship Programme. Early-career researchers can join a project team from another nation thanks to the fellowships, which opens up new options and frequently forges long-lasting relationships spanning several Antarctic research seasons.
Some flexibility was added during the epidemic, and this will continue. Candidates may suggest partially or completely remote fellowships, and in the event that complications arise regarding travel or other activities, they will work with grantees to ensure that their fellowships may proceed.
The Prince Albert II of Monaco Foundation will provide additional funding through the Polar Initiative in 2024, resulting in 4-5 Fellowships this year.
