The Program organised by DO in collaboration with the World Bank is specifically designed for women entrepreneurs in Abuja, Nigeria. This program will help enhance your affirmative procurement skills and knowledge, which can greatly empower women in business.
During the one-month course, you'll learn how to bid for procurement contracts and create effective proposals and presentations. Additionally, the program will teach you about digital trends, how to use technology to increase revenue, improve social media presence, monitor consumer behavior, and create and manage business websites. You'll also learn about affirmative procurement policies and strategies, including how to operate and thrive in an ever-fluctuating economy by identifying emerging opportunities and using automation and restructuring to pivot your business. Finally, you'll have the chance to network with other women entrepreneurs and learn from experienced procurement professionals.

Scaling Women's Economic Empowerment through Affirmative Procurement Training Program Requirements
- Women Entrepreneurs in Abuja: The business must be owned or led by a woman and operate within Abuja.
- Commitment to Participation: Applicants must be committed to attending all training sessions.
- Informal or Early-Stage Businesses: Priority will be given to businesses that are not yet fully formalized and require guidance in formalization.
- Financial Flexibility: No strict financial requirements. Businesses with limited financial resources are encouraged to apply.
- Willingness to Formalize: Applicants must be open to formalizing their business operations as part of the training.
Criteria for Women-Owned/Women-Led Businesses:
- Women-Owned Enterprises: The business must be at least 51% owned by women.
- Leadership Criteria: At least 20% women ownership and women in key leadership roles (CEO, COO, etc.) qualify.
- Board Representation: Businesses with 30% female representation on the board will be prioritize.
