About Saskatchewan University Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships

Opportunity Details

These scholarships are Saskatchewan University’s highest valued and renewable entrance awards. Applicants with academics, leadership, and school and community life contributions are eligible to submit applications.

Five of these scholarships, known as the Circle of Honour Awards, are for Indigenous students. Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships include the following scholarships:

  • George and Marsha Ivany President’s First and Best Scholarships
  • Chancellors’ Scholarships
  • U of S Entrance Scholarships
  • Edwards Undergraduate Scholarships
  • College of Agriculture and Bioresources Renewable Entrance Scholarships
     

Benefits of Saskatchewan University Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships

  • George and Marsha Ivany President’s First and Best Scholarships
    Total value: $40,000 and $10,000 per year for over four years
    Out of five scholarships, one of them is for an Indigenous student.
  • Chancellors’ Scholarships
    Total value: $30,000 and $7,500 per year for four years
    Out of twelfth total scholarships, two of the Chancellors’ Scholarships are for Indigenous students.
  • U of S Entrance Scholarships
    Total value: $24,000 and $6,000 per year over four years
    Out of the twelfth total scholarships, two of these scholarships are specially for Indigenous students.
  • Edwards Undergraduate Scholarships
    The total number of these scholarships reaches up to eight awards; the real value is up to $24,000 and $6,000 yearly for over four years.
  • College of Agriculture and Bioresources Renewable Entrance Scholarships
    Total value: $12,000 and $3,000 each year for over four years
    The total number of awards reaches five scholarships, out of which one of them is for an Indigenous student.

Saskatchewan University Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships Requirments

Applicants should meet the following criteria to apply for the Saskatchewan University Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships:

For George and Marsha Ivany President’s First and Best Scholarships:

  • Graduating from a Canadian high school
  • Proceeding directly from high school to university
  • Minimum high school average of 95%

For Chancellors’ Scholarships:

  • Applicants should be graduating or have graduated from a Canadian high school. This scholarship is renewable for over three additional years, provided an 80% average is maintained.

For University of Saskatchewan Entrance Scholarships:

  • Graduating from a Canadian high school
  • Proceeding directly from high school to university
  • Minimum high school average of 95%
  • This scholarship is renewable for three more years, provided an 80% average is maintained.

For Edwards Undergraduate Scholarship:

  • This scholarship is open to students pursuing a Bachelor of Commerce program at the University of Saskatchewan’s Edwards School of Business.
  • To be eligible for renewal of the scholarship, students must enroll in and complete a minimum of 24 credit units and maintain an academic average of 80% on all courses attempted during the previous Regular Session.
  • If an applicant fails to qualify for renewal of their award in any given academic year, a student in the same program year will be selected to receive the prize and may qualify for its renewal through their fourth program year.

For Torvald and Margaret Tollefson Renewable Entrance Scholarship:

  • Entering students studying for a Bachelor of Science in Agriculture degree.
  • All new and entering students are eligible to apply for this scholarship
  • This award is renewable for three additional years, provided a 75% grade average on a minimum of 24 credit units is maintained.

Application Date and Process

To apply for the Saskatchewan University Scholarships, please follow these steps:

  • Apply online for admission by 01 December by paying the admission fee and submitting transcripts and additional documents to the admission office.
  • Check your email for your new log-in and temporary password within two to three business days.
  • Submit your scholarship application by 15 December by selecting the Apply button in the Scholarships and Bursaries channel in PAWS. Select the Best and Brightest Entrance Scholarships application form from the Entering Students drop-down menu.
  • Check your email inbox for an award offer from January to late February. Only successful applicants will receive an award
