About Romanian Government Scholarships

Each year, Romania welcomes 40 exceptional international students through a competitive scholarship selection process. This initiative, led by the Romanian Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and Research, provides full funding for undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral-level studies at accredited Romanian universities.
This scholarship covers tuition, accommodation, a monthly stipend, Romanian language training, and more. It aims to promote Romanian culture and language while supporting outstanding global talent in various priority academic disciplines.

Benefits of Romanian Government Scholarships

• Full exemption from all application, registration, Romanian language testing, and doctoral entrance exam fees
• Full tuition coverage for both the Romanian language preparatory year and the chosen academic program (up to the standard program duration)
• Monthly stipend for all levels of study, including during the preparatory year
• Accommodation subsidy in student dormitories
• Access to medical services for emergencies and communicable diseases
• Equal access to local and national transport for Romanian students (bus, train, metro, etc.)
• Support extended during academic years and specific holidays, with 30 additional days after graduation (for programs lasting at least 1 year)

• This opportunity is open to foreign citizens from a non-EU and non-EFTA country

Application Date and Process

Between April 1 and May 15, 2025, 23:59 Romanian time, application files for scholarships awarded by the Romanian state for the academic year 2025 - 2026 will be sent only in electronic format (pdf), to the email address: burse2025 @ arice .gov .ro

The files will be sent scanned, only in PDF format, to the mentioned email address, according to the published procedure, the original documents will be presented to the educational institutions where only the selected candidates will undergo training.

The ARICE selection committee, appointed according to legal procedures, will select the candidates, based on the documents submitted to the file, by July 31, 2025 at the latest, after which it will publish the result of this intermediate selection stage on the institution's website at: https://arice.gov.ro/1/burse-2025/

The final decision to award scholarships will be made by the Ministry of Education and Research, based on its own selection criteria, with the final results of the selection process being announced on the ARICE website and communicated by email to the selected candidates.

The Ministry of Education, through the General Directorate of International Relations and European Affairs, will issue the Letters of Acceptance/Enrollment Orders, as appropriate, by the start of the 2025-2026 academic year.

IMPORTANT: Incomplete files or files submitted after the deadline of May 15, 2024, 23:59 Romanian time, will not be taken into consideration.
