Opportunity Details

  • Application Deadline: February 05, 2025
  • Category: Fellowship
  • Eligible Locations: Asia Oceania

Every year, One Million Leaders Asia (OMLAS) seeks out young Asian talent and grants them an OMLAS Fellowship. The fellowship recipients receive two months of instruction in topics such as social entrepreneurship, sustainability, social innovation, and transformative leadership, as well as assistance in carrying out community projects.

Fellows have the opportunity to continue working with young leaders in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and MENA (Middle East and North Africa) after completing the Fellowship Program by becoming members of the OMLAS Alumni community. The OMLAS Secretariat runs the Program in Kathmandu, Nepal.

Program Phases:

The program has four phases as follows:

  • Phase One: Fellows’ Intensive Training: The first stage is called Fellows’ Intensive Training, during which a select group of young leaders receive in-depth instruction centered on the OML Fellowship Curriculum’s five pillars. The term “Fellows” refers to these chosen young leaders.
  • Phase Two: Leadership Challenge: As they pass on their knowledge and form a team, fellows take on a leadership challenge to engage, motivate, and empower upcoming leaders in their communities. Each Fellow is expected to assemble a team of at least 20 Champions (50 in OMLA), a term they use to refer to this second tier of emerging leaders. During this stage, Fellows will lead the training sessions with their Champions and receive a series of Masterclasses on important sustainability topics.
  • Phase Three: Act for Change/Summit: In October (17-19) 2025, Fellows and Champions will participate in virtual as well as physical (hybrid) OML Summit. Fellows who are interested in doing projects are encouraged to find their funding to implement the projects.
  • Phase Four: Graduation and OML Alumni Community: Upon completion of the Fellowship, all Fellows and Champions will become OML leaders and have the opportunity to join the global OML Alumni Community. They will have access to the networking and empowerment opportunities offered in and through the Alumni Community and assist in connecting, inspiring, and empowering NexGen leaders worldwide.

Benefits of One Million Leaders Asia Fellowship Program

The program benefits are as follows:

  • Intensive Training: A 3-month online program focused on the Five OML Curriculum Pillars, equipping Fellows with the skills, tools, and knowledge to drive positive change.
  • Networking: Connect with leaders across Asia and engage with the Global Alumni Community for long-term collaboration.
  • Mentorship: Develop as a leader while mentoring the next generation of sustainability leaders.
  • Summit Leadership: Participants will lead and organize the virtual and local OML Summit in October 2025, which will be hosted by NELIS Global and the OMLAS Secretariat.
