Opportunity Details
The GJDYC Youth Innovation Challenge, developed in collaboration with the Youth Advisory Council of Jamaica (YACJ), the Jamaica Union of Tertiary Students (JUTS), and the National Youth Council of Jamaica (NYCJ), is an exciting opportunity for Jamaican youth, both at home and in the diaspora, to come together and showcase their innovative ideas. This challenge aims to foster collaboration and innovation among young Jamaicans and address critical obstacles to progress in human development in Jamaica.
How Does It Work?
Participants are tasked with answering the prompt: “What is the most important obstacle to progress in human development in Jamaica?” This year’s challenge encourages participants to think beyond crime and focus on other significant barriers to progress.

Participants can choose from the following categories:
The challenge is open to Jamaican youth and those of Jamaican descent between the ages of 18 and 35. The registration deadline is April 5, 2024, at 11:59 PM EDT. Participants can register in groups of 2-4, with at least one member being diaspora-based and one member based in Jamaica or having resided in Jamaica for over 15 years.
