The fund is named for the late David Donald, a former IRE training director who spread the gospel of computer-assisted reporting to thousands of journalists, educators and students around the world. The fund is designed to support computer-assisted reporting training to university educators so that they can better equip their students to be effective watchdogs through the use of data.
It provides assistance to attend a Data Journalism Bootcamp, or the NICAR Conference, March 6-9, 2025.
