The key to successfully removing obstacles to gender equality is combining the efforts of devoted leaders from many generations. Their program aims to give a dynamic group of upcoming leaders a platform to further their work and gain access to global decision-makers, all the while elevating their voices and highlighting their position as agents of good change. In turn, established gender champions will gain from the fresh viewpoints, knowledge, and abilities of youthful campaigners.
Objectives
Six young gender equality activists from around the world will be paired with Geneva-based Gender Champions for a six-month pilot project that will involve a dynamic and mutually beneficial mentoring interaction. The program aims to foster greater collaboration and inclusivity by shifting from a traditional mentoring structure.

- Give next-generation leaders a platform to further their work and access the knowledge of global decision-makers in order to elevate their voices;
- Provide opportunities for seasoned decision-makers to learn from youthful activists. These individuals can acquire priceless knowledge, experience, and abilities.
Benefits of International Gender Champions (IGC) Youth Champions Programme
- Young activists for gender equality from all over the world are paired with Gender Champions, located in Geneva, for a six-month mutual mentoring program through the Youth Champions Fellowship Program.
- The program raises the voices of a dynamic group of upcoming leaders and emphasizes their potential to be agents of good change in the field of gender equality. It will give young activists a stage on which to promote their cause and give them access to the knowledge of well-known global figures.

International Gender Champions (IGC) Youth Champions Programme Requirements
- Candidates must to have a track record of accomplishment in community organizing and activity centered on gender equality. This can involve leading efforts within their communities, organizing events, advocating for causes, and being involved in grassroots movements.
- People of various gender identities, sexual orientations, abilities, nationalities, faiths, and geographic backgrounds are welcome to apply for the program. Candidates need to show in their work that they are dedicated to diversity and inclusivity.
- English language proficiency (level B2) is necessary because the training will be delivered in that language.
- In addition to valuing diversity, treating everyone with respect, and treating the workplace safely, participants must also collaborate with the gender champions in an open, sincere, and transparent manner. Youth Champions will uphold the GBV and Panel Parity commitments made by the IGC.
Selection Criteria:
The young activists must upload a video presentation of themselves, their resumes, and a statement of purpose as part of their application.
- CV and Submission Form: Prospective youth advocates are required to upload their resumes via the application portal and respond to a series of questions emphasizing their reasons for enrolling in the program, as well as how their experiences and accomplishments demonstrate their dedication to gender equality.
- Video Presentation: It is suggested that the young activists submit a film showcasing their commitment to gender equality and themselves.
Every mentor-mentee duo is anticipated to:
- Organize a minimum of one mentorship meeting every month.
- Participate as a guest on one of the monthly IGC podcast episodes to talk about the problems facing gender equality today and to encourage practical fixes.
- Create an output of their choosing, such as co-writing an opinion piece, planning a workshop or (hybrid) learning event, or creating a toolbox, among other things.
