  • Award in Nairobi - Salary for 1 year: 2,036,836 - 3,396,801 KES
  • Award in New Delhi - Salary for 1 year: 628,638 - 1,148,048 INR

International Development Research Centre (IDRC) Research Awards Requirments

  • For the awards based in Ottawa: Canadian citizens, permanent residents of Canada, temporary foreign workers with a valid work permit and students from low or middle-income countries enrolled in a Canadian university with a valid study permit.
  • For the awards based in the regions, the candidates must hold citizenship of that country.
  • Students who are finishing a master's program or researchers who have completed a master's program within the last three years.
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have completed a master's degree.

Evaluation Criteria

  • Relevance of the proposal to ID's mission and mandate
  • Relevance of the proposal to selected
    development outcome area
  • Clarity and quality of the proposal
  • Clarity and appropriateness in addressing the ethical considerations and gender dimension of the proposed research
  • Applicant's capacity to conduct the proposed program of research including academic qualifications, local language abilities, and related experience
  • Applicant's capacity to conduct program of work, including related employment experience
