About Henry Chijioke Ofili Foundation 2024 Scholarship

Opportunity Details

In collaboration with The Destiny Trust, The Henry Ofili Scholarship empowers academically exceptional children and youths from disadvantaged backgrounds to pursue career excellence in STEM.

Their aim is to support high-achieving students from low-income backgrounds who demonstrate exceptional academic potential and a strong commitment to pursuing STEM dicipline.

The Henry Ofili Foundation Scholarship is coordinated by The Destiny Trust, a non-profit committed to the education, well-being, and empowerment of children and young people in vulnerable circumstances. The Trust aims at using education as a means of tangible empowerment for young people to break the cycle of multigenerational poverty.

98% of university undergraduates supported by The Destiny Trust are the first generation of undergraduates in their families. The Trust is bridging agelong education gaps and ensuring the socio-economic inclusion of more disadvantaged children, families, and communities. Since 2012, over 20,000 children and young people have been reached with education opportunities across all levels with resounding stories of transformed lives.

Henry Chijioke Ofili Foundation 2024 Scholarship Requirments

  • Academic Merit: Applicants should provide standardized test grades (A1) in the West African Senior School Certificate Examination or its equivalent in the following subjects: English Language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and other core science subjects.
  • Leadership Potential: Applicants must demonstrate leadership potential and have a verifiable track record of volunteering, community service, and a strong perception of personal integrity. Applicants are expected to provide appropriate documentation to verify their underrepresented status,
  • Economic Disadvantage: Applicants must belong to one or more of the following groups: First-generation undergraduate students from low-income families. Orphans, housing-insecure, and displaced children/youths who completed basic education through sheer resilience.
