About GBHI Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health Program
This program offers innovative training, networking, and support to emerging leaders dedicated to improving brain health and reducing the impact of dementia. As one of seven global Atlantic Fellows programs, it aims to promote fairer, healthier, and more inclusive societies.
This fellowship brings together a diverse community of over 230 Fellows from more than 50 countries, all working towards protecting the aging population from brain health threats.
The program welcomes individuals from diverse disciplines, such as the arts, sciences, economics, policy, medicine, journalism, and community practice. Ideal Fellows are interdisciplinary, break traditional barriers, and are dedicated to addressing global inequities in brain health and dementia.
Benefits of GBHI Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health Program
All selected fellows will benefit from the program as follows:
- Pilot Funding: Up to $25,000 for ambitious projects in the Fellows’ home communities.
- Innovative Training: Interdisciplinary learning sessions in neuroscience, health economics, social determinants of health, and health policy.
- Experiential Learning: Observational and case-based learning in clinical and community settings.
- Leadership Development: Training to become transformative leaders in brain health.
- Career Development: Ongoing mentorship from GBHI faculty and local community leaders.
- Lifelong Fellowship: Continuous engagement and collaboration within a global community of Fellows.
GBHI Atlantic Fellows for Equity in Brain Health Program Requirments
You must fulfill these requirements:
- Applications are open to all nationalities from around the world.
- The program welcomes individuals from diverse disciplines, such as the arts, sciences, economics, policy, medicine, journalism, and community practice. We seek candidates in brain health and dementia with innovative ideas, enthusiasm, and leadership potential. Ideal Fellows are interdisciplinary, break traditional barriers, and are dedicated to addressing global inequities in brain health and dementia.
- Applicants should demonstrate willingness and availability to complete 12 months of full-time education in residence at UCSF (USA) or Trinity College Dublin (Ireland)
- They must have long-term commitment and dedication to the program’s values, mission, and goals, including potential pilot projects post-fellowship
- Have the ability to bring creative and relevant projects to fruition with transformative global impact.

- Prove successful completion of field-specific terminal degrees and associated training.
- Have the willingness and ability to travel globally as required.
- Commitment to meaningful impact in home communities, supported by regional mentorship
