About Field Inclusive Travel Awards

Field Inclusive strives to provide tangible and actionable improvements in the natural sciences by addressing social field safety issues related to equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility. They seek to support all field biologists, as well as those working and recreating in the outdoors, through identifying and addressing social field safety issues, developing social field safety resources, and supporting marginalized and historically excluded researchers through financial aid and experiential learning opportunities.

Benefits of Field Inclusive Travel Awards

Award

• One Field Inclusive Travel Award of $2,000 will be awarded to a student (undergraduate, masters, doctoral, or postdoc), to help attend a scientific conference, training, or workshop taking place in the Summer 2025 year.

Field Inclusive Travel Awards Requirements

• Applicants must attend an institution in the U.S.
• International students who attend an institution in the U.S. and/or have a U.S. bank account are eligible.
• Travel must take place in the U.S. Students outside of the U.S. are not eligible at this time.

Upon completion of travel, willingness to provide a photograph and a ~ 500-2000 write-up about what the award was used towards for the webpage is also a condition. Applicant should also anticipate requirements from award sponsors. Applicant may also be asked to present during a future #FieldInclusiveWeek.

Application Date and Process

1. Applicants must be current members of Field Inclusive. Become a member before applying. 
2. Fill out the Google Form below with all of the necessary information. Students should be prepared to upload a one page essay on how this award will help them, noting their financial need, and include a DEI statement. If awarded, be prepared to submit a .pdf of your accepted conference/workshop abstract or email of acceptance.
3. Please Note: Travel must take place between May 1st and September 1st.
