Chemistry for Climate Action Challenge 2025 Requirments

You must meet the following requirements:

  • Projects must be implemented in low- and middle-income countries (Global South).
  • The project must focus on green and sustainable chemistry solutions.
  • The project should advance Climate Action (SDG 13) and Gender Equity (SDG 5).
  • Early-stage projects or scale-ups where the prize represents a significant portion of the overall budget
  • Projects must have a local implementation partner if based in the Global South.
  • Educational projects must have a strong scientific green & sustainable chemistry component.

Selection Process

The selection process is as follows:

  • Submission Phase: Proposals can be submitted from 15th June 2024 to 15th September 2024.
  • Reviewing Phase: A panel of reviewers will select top-tier eligible proposals and advance to the judging phase.
  • Judging Phase: A scientific jury will evaluate the proposals, selecting the Top 5 finalists invited to present their projects at the conference.
  • Final Decision: The winners will be announced at the 9th Elsevier Green & Sustainable Chemistry Conference in March 2025.

Application Date and Process

The winning projects will receive a prize of $25,000 each. The winners will be announced at the 9th Elsevier Green & Sustainable Chemistry Conference (3-6 March, 2025) in Punne, India.
