About Changing Faces Women Leadership Seminar

The Changing Faces The Women’s Leadership Seminar focuses on the critical role that innovation and entrepreneurship play in driving economic growth, creating jobs, and improving communities. During this 12-day professional training, conversation, and travel program, participants attend workshops on leadership and entrepreneurship.
Along with this, participants gain more insight into leadership, community development, entrepreneurship, and economic growth through carefully curated field trips and conversations with practitioners, experts, company owners, and legislators in Hawaii. In a Host Mentor Program, participants are paired with local women leaders on an individual basis. In exchange, Changing Faces participants mentor a chosen group of high school students as part of a Next Generation Service Project. Ultimately, in order to assist participants in creating and implementing a specific Action Plan for the advancement of their company or community, the Changing Faces Seminar also offers training and consultation sessions.

Benefits of Changing Faces Women Leadership Seminar
Some of the sponsors of the Changing Faces Women’s Leadership Seminar include the Fish Family Foundation and the East-West Center. Six to eight women from the Asia-Pacific area and the United States are able to participate thanks to funding. The projected cost of a full scholarship is $3,250 USD for each participant and covers the following programmatic expenses:
- Airfare between O’ahu and Maui inside the island Ground transportation and airport transfers during the duration of the 2024 program
- Accommodations in Oahu and Maui for the 12-day program in 2024
- Program meals as well as a little daily allowance to cover any meals that are not supplied during the 2024 program
- Pro-rated training sessions and speaker honoraria
- Personalized mentorship for hosts
- Cultural events and networking possibilities
- Materials for participants’ resources
- knowledgeable facilitators with a background in women’s leadership and regional concerns
Note: Every Face Changing The cost of the round-trip flight, luggage fees, health insurance, and visa-related charges are all the responsibility of the women traveling to and from Honolulu. The Center highly encourages additional participant cost-sharing of programmatic fees due to the limited number of scholarships offered. Cost-sharing is viewed as proof of an applicant’s dedication to the Seminar’s goals, self-growth, and drive to build their firm.
Changing Faces Women Leadership Seminar Requirements
- The Changing Faces Seminar is aimed at female social entrepreneurs and company owners who have shown leadership qualities and the capacity to impact change and influence others in their communities.
- Candidates may include creative business owners, managers of businesses, officials in government and business, and leaders of civil society with a minimum of seven years of professional experience and a track record of community leadership.
- Generally speaking, innovators are people who have developed an original concept or product or who are acknowledged for their capacity to enhance an original concept or system.
- The ability to converse in English in a formal context is a must for applicants. Candidates who propose to cost-share programmatic costs and have limited options for professional growth and international interaction are given preference. There may be a phone interview with the finalists.

To be considered, applicants must provide all of the following:
- A completed online Changing Faces Seminar Application Form
- A letter of interest (no more than three pages) with the following information:
• A brief overview of your company/organization and your role
• What you hope to gain and offer by participating in Changing Faces
• Specific examples of your professional leadership and innovation (as mentioned above).
• Demonstrated potential for influence within your community
• Establish an actionable objective for your organization or community that you want to work on and define the role you can or would like to play in accomplishing that goal

- 2 professional letters of recommendation outlining your suitability for the Seminar. The letters must be signed and printed on letterhead.
