It is designed to support students who have demonstrated strong engagement with the BIPOC community and a commitment to high journalistic standards. The Canadian Journalism Foundation (CJF) launched the CJF Bursary for BIPOC Student Journalists in Fall 2021.

Canadian Journalism Foundation Bursary Requirements

Open to a BIPOC student in their final year of a Canadian undergraduate journalism program.

Application Date and Process

Applicants are asked to submit samples of classwork or freelance reporting in the form of written work, video, audio, video editing or other journalist forms; and
Share a statement of intent about what they want to do in journalism upon graduation.
