Since its inception in 2002, this fellowship has provided a unique platform for peacebuilders dedicated to addressing issues of gender, peace, and conflict. Through a comprehensive program encompassing learning, practice, research, and participation, the Women PeaceMakers Fellowship aims to fortify peacebuilding partnerships and foster impactful collaborations.

Opportunity Details

The Women PeaceMakers Fellowship program serves as a nexus for collaboration between peacebuilders from conflict-affected regions and international partner organizations. Fellows engage in co-creating research endeavors aimed at shaping the peacebuilding landscape and promoting best practices in peacebuilding design and implementation.

Fellowship Objectives

  • Engage in a cycle of learning, practice, research, and participation.
  • Gain new skills, perspectives, and innovative approaches to peacebuilding.
  • Expand professional peacebuilding networks.
  • Drive forward vital peacebuilding research shaping practice and policy.

Key Information

  • Dates: September – July
  • Residency: A two-week residency at the University of San Diego (usually in November)

Benefits of Women Peacemakers Fellowship at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice

  • Stipend: USD $15,000 plus expenses

Women Peacemakers Fellowship at the Joan B. Kroc Institute for Peace and Justice Requirments

  • This program is open to peacebuilders globally with at least five years of experience in peacebuilding and proficiency in English

Prospective applicants must engage in all fellowship activities, including public events, and collaborate with international partners to foster effective local and global collaborations. Fellows will conduct original research and participate in a two-week residency at the University of San Diego. Additionally, they will become part of the Kroc IPJ Women Waging Peace network, benefiting from a wide range of resources and opportunities.
