This comprehensive training initiative aims to equip participants with both foundational and advanced knowledge in entrepreneurship, focusing on solutions that promote food security and economic development. The programme will run from June 2024 until March 2025 and is generously supported by the Government and People of Japan. Participants who successfully complete the programme will receive a UNITAR certificate of completion.
The training is divided into three distinct phases:
Phase 1: Foundational Training (July – October 2024)
Approximately 100 participants will engage in online training covering key entrepreneurship topics such as the basics of entrepreneurship, agribusiness, and identifying high-potential business opportunities. This phase includes self-paced courses, peer discussions, assignments, and webinars led by regional and international experts.
Phase 2: Advanced Training (October – December 2024)
Around 20 top-ranked participants will advance to training on entrepreneurial tools and techniques. They will focus on developing innovative and sustainable business solutions to tackle food security challenges, including climate-smart agricultural and aquacultural practices.
Phase 3: Business Blueprint Development (December 2024 – March 2025)
The final phase will see approximately 10 top performers develop detailed blueprints for new enterprises or projects with high potential for job creation and resilience-building in the agrifood sector.
