Journalism Fund Europe accepts applications for the Investigation Grants for Environmental Journalism. This grant supports cross-border teams of professional journalists and news outlets to investigate environmental affairs related to Europe.
Opportunity Details
As newsrooms and news media operate mainly nationally, most societal and environmental problems and power structures exceed national boundaries. Therefore, this grant aimed at cross-border teams of investigative journalists and newsrooms to research and document unreported, illegal, and unregulated abuse of nature that involves European affairs in and outside Europe.
Besides investigations of environmental issues that transcend borders, this fund also supports comparative investigations into local ecological matters and policies between two or more regions or cities. Additionally, the grants support preliminary work in developing new investigative projects.
Cross-border teams of at least two professional journalists and/or news outlets can submit a proposal for a journalistic investigation about an issue that concerns the environmentand relates to Europe.
Only applicants who are legally residing in at least two different countries are permitted to receive funding.
