Just last semester, they received over 1,200 applications for the Spring 2024 cohort, with only about 300 participants accepted. This Fall, they are eagerly seeking fresh perspectives from Africa, Asia, Latin America, and the MENA region to enrich our global dialogue.

The CAIDP AI Policy Certificate: Your Path to Expertise

At the heart of our mission lies the CAIDP AI Policy Certificate, a comprehensive program designed to equip emerging leaders with the tools and knowledge needed to navigate the complex landscape of AI policy. This rigorous certification encompasses research, writing, policy analysis, and culminates in a detailed multi-part test covering AI history, regulation, and research methods. Moreover, candidates must adhere to a Statement of Professional Ethics for AI Policy, ensuring the highest standards of conduct in the field.

Central to our ethos is a commitment to ethical AI policy. CAIDP has pioneered the first code of professional ethics for the field, recognizing the profound impact of AI systems on society. The CAIDP AI Policy Clinics offer a unique opportunity for intensive, interdisciplinary learning. Spanning a semester, these courses foster skills in policy analysis, research, team management, and policy formation. Participants engage with cutting-edge topics such as AI history, regulation, and policy frameworks, with a keen eye on international norms for AI governance.

Looking Ahead: Fall 2024 Clinics

This Fall, CAIDP will offer three distinct AI Policy Clinics, each designed to meet the diverse needs of emerging leaders in the field. From foundational skills to advanced policy assessment, there’s something for everyone:

1. AI Policy Clinic: Dive into the essentials of AI policy, honing your analytic skills and conducting empirical research on national AI policies and practices.
2. AI Policy Clinic (Advanced): For seasoned participants seeking to deepen their expertise, this program offers advanced policy assessment and mentoring opportunities.
3. AI Policy Group (Global) and AI Legal Group (US): Engage directly with policymakers and institutions, contributing to CAIDP’s substantive policy recommendations on a global scale.
