The Amazon Web Services (AWS) Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Scholarship program, which debuted as a part of AWS DeepRacer Student, aims to increase diversity in the fields of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) by providing successful applicants with the chance to earn up to two Udacity Nanodegrees. Massive open online courses (MOOCs) like the Udacity Nanodegree are intended to close the knowledge gap between academic pursuits and professional objectives.

Benefits of Amazon Web Services (AWS) Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Scholarship

Every year, two distinct cohorts of 2,500 Udacity Nanodegree scholarships will be awarded worldwide under the AWS AI & ML Scholarship program. The following is given to each student:

  • The AI Programming with Python Nanodegree is free to enter. This course will teach you the fundamentals of programming, linear algebra, and neural networks so you can start utilizing AI techniques.
  • Access to weekly office hours with Udacity teachers to get help with inquiries regarding course material. Students can also take part in weekly case study activities that are facilitated by Udacity faculty.
  • Exclusive access to career resources and mentoring, such as advice on resume editing, talks with industry professionals, and interview techniques.
  • Additionally, depending on their success in course assessments, the top 500 students from the AI Programming with Python course are granted access to a more advanced Nanodegree that covers the principles of deep learning and equips them with the knowledge and abilities needed to work as machine learning engineers.
  • Free admission to a brand-new generative AI course called Introducing Generative AI with AWS, which was co-created by AWS and Udacity, is granted to all students who fulfill the requirements for scholarships and submit an application to Udacity. Students can choose to enrol in the month-long course as an optional means of improving their generative AI skills. While the Nanodegree scholarship is only available to scholarship recipients, the course is open to all students who apply for the award.

Amazon Web Services (AWS) Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning (ML) Scholarship Requirements

Applicants who meet the following criteria can apply to AWS AI & ML Scholarship program:

  • The AWS AI & ML Scholarship program is designed for 16-year-old (and older) underprivileged and underrepresented students.

Prequalifying:

Two requirements are necessary to be prequalified for the scholarship:

  • Review coursework and pass assessments: You must receive 80% or better on all necessary tests in order to be prequalified. Every exam is based on a different chapter from the AWS DeepRacer Student navigation pane’s Learn section.
  • Achieve a minimum lap time: In the AWS DeepRacer League, a new leaderboard with a new circuit is released every month from February to September. You must record a single lap time in any race that is less than two minutes in order to be considered for the scholarship.

Notes:

  • Students who successfully fulfill both requirements will get an email from AWS including a link to the Udacity Nanodegree scholarship application and a special access code.
  • In order to be eligible for the scholarship, students must complete the application completely.
  • After the application is finished, students receive an email from Udacity with enrollment instructions for the optional Introducing Generative AI with AWS course, which is available to all applicants.
