About Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) Junior and Senior Fellowships

The AIAS-AUFF Junior and Senior Fellowships are available for curiosity-driven, talented researchers from all over the world and within all research disciplines. Junior fellowships last for 23 months, senior fellowships for 11 months, starting on September 1, 2025.

• Evaluation and selection period: November-February 2025.

Benefits of Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) Junior and Senior Fellowships

The fellowship includes

Fellows are offered:

• a salary based on seniority (employment conditions and wages are regulated through the Danish collective union agreements)
• relocation travel costs covered 
• relocation assistance.

Fellows will have office space at AIAS and can participate in the academic training activities, conferences and workshops at AIAS. They will also be affiliated with the relevant research environments at Aarhus University.

Aarhus Institute of Advanced Studies (AIAS) Junior and Senior Fellowships Requirements

The call is open to curiosity-driven researchers and welcomes applications from researchers:

• from  all research disciplines  of  any nationality
• who comply with a  mobility demand  as applicants must not have resided or carried out their main work activity in Denmark for more than 12 months in the two years immediately prior to the deadline of the call.
• with a career experience of  2-10 years after completion of their PhD (23 months junior fellowships)
• with a career experience of  11+ years  after completion of their PhD (11 months senior fellowships)
