About Nigeria LNG Limited Prize for Science

The Nigeria Prize for Science celebrates excellence in scientific breakthroughs and honours scientists from anywhere in the world, who help find solutions to a local or ‘Nigerian’ problem, as defined and advertised by the Advisory Board for the prize.

The Prize is an annual prize aimed at stimulating the advancement and application of science and technology. It is expected that the quest for a prestigious prize in science will improve science and technology in Nigeria, resolve issues that are germane to development of the country and help improve the standards of living.

Nigeria LNG Limited Prize for Science Requirements

• The prize is open to scientists and innovators from all over the world. To submit your entry, you must submit a research paper or project proposal that outlines your innovative solution to climate change.

To be considered for the Nigeria LNG (NLNG) Prize for Science Award:

• The award is open to scientists and innovators worldwide (Nigerians and non-Nigerians) involved in the application of science to proffer innovation and technologies for reducing the effects of climate change
• Members of the Advisory Board or Panel of Judges or their relatives are not allowed to enter their works for the Science Prize during their year of service as well as the following year.
• Nigeria LNG Limited staff or their family members are ineligible to enter the prize during their years of service and five (5) years post-service.
• The work should be of outstanding merit and should have advanced the frontiers of knowledge and/or provide an innovative technology for reducing the effects of climate change.
• The entry should be a completed scientific work, substantiated by either a proof of concept or tangible societal impact.
• Only one entry can be submitted by an individual or group
• All materials in support of the entry must be submitted within the time stipulated

Application Date and Process

• Entries should be submitted via www.thenigeriaprizes.org. Click on the link to the application website to apply.
• As the intention is to recognise the most relevant and effective solution to a prescribed problem for which Nigeria benents, works of collaboration by two or more persnos are also welcome.
• Only one entry per contestants) is permitted per competition year.
• Entries not submitted by the stated deadline and according to stated conditions shall not be considered.
• The prize will be awarded for no other reason than excellence.
• Applicants must be willing to participate in the prize activities and public events.
