The Maxwell King Scholarship (MKS) is a prestigious award named after Professor Maxwell King, who significantly contributed to graduate research at Monash University, including serving as the Pro Vice-Chancellor (Research and Research Training) for eight years.
This scholarship aims to support PhD students by covering their living costs while they study at Monash University.

To be considered for the Monash University Maxwell King Scholarship, you must:
- Be an international or domestic student
- You must have submitted a scholarship application in the current year.

- You must meet Monash’s English language proficiency requirements.
Application Date and Process
To apply for the 2024 Monash University Maxwell King Scholarship, interested and qualified applicants are required to;
- Application for graduate research scholarships is done at the time of applying for your course, unless you are already enrolled.
- A single application is used for both admission and scholarship. You do not need to specify which scholarship you are applying as you are automatically considered for all graduate research scholarships
- If you are a new applicant, obtain an invitation to apply from the relevant faculty before starting your application.
- Ensure you have all necessary documents, including academic transcripts, proof of English proficiency, and research outputs.
